Dogs have short attention spans. for this reason, it is best to plan more frequent, shorter training sessions. plan five minute training sessions with three to five "name calls" during different times of the day. practice over the course of a few days.. Throw a piece of your dog’s daily food allowance out (about one meter away). after they finish eating, they will naturally look back to you for more, mark this with a ‘yes’ or a click and throw another piece. once your dog is turning back consistently, introduce your dog’s name just before they turn around then mark and reward..
Begin by stretching the back of the dog’s upper foreleg and the flexor muscles of the foreleg. hold the dog’s elbow with one hand, grasping the wrist with the other. move the leg forward and upwards, stretching the elbow joint. stretch the muscle slowly and carefully to its full extent.. Choose a new name that has the same first syllable as the old name. it may also be easier for your dog to learn his new name if it has the same first syllable as the old name. for example, if your dog’s name was lucky, then you may find it easy to change it to lucy. or, if the dog’s name was betsy, then you could change it to bella.. S/he is learning from you every time you interact. bad dog habits develop when owners let dogs get away with bad behavior outside of dedicated training sessions. so, always keep an eye on your dog outside of training sessions. if s/he knows it during training sessions, then make sure he remembers it outside of training..
